My zine is sort of telling a story about a day in my life, starting with a dream, then waking up, getting ready, getting dressed, packing my suitcase and making my way to the airport. I chose these moments because they are all parts of my routine that I do almost mindlessly. I wanted the beginning to feel calm and familiar, like moving through a day as usual.

The centerfold is the sort of turning point where I trip and scrape my knee as I'm in a rush. I put this in the middle because I wanted this accident to feel sudden and dramatic compared to the normal before it. After that, I have to stop and put some bandaids on and collect myself before proceeding. I then continue my journey to the airport, flying to see my girlfriend and the zen blue page at the end of the story creates a calmer feeling after the chaos of falling.

I also wanted to tell the story in a creative way using colors and images from Pinterest. The only image from my real life is the one of my and my girlfriend and the rest of the images, the objects, body language, rooms and smaller details are meant to move the story forward. Since it's based on a pretty ordinary experience I wanted someone looking through it to recognize parts of their own routine in it. Overall my zine is about a journey, an ordinary day, and how it can change with unexpected moments but keeping it going will lead to peace and happiness.
